bike update. 50 degrees in feb!!!

welcome to Minnesota in February? 50 degrees today, and a good reason to turn the heat up on myself on the projects. and with that, some updates here as well. starting to come out of a self induced (life, ex, work, etc) cabin fever spell, and with all 6 cyl firing. and the boss picking up some new bikes has only hastened the cause. so the bike was quickly torn down to the bare frame, and color schemes laid out in my head. so motor out, and down to the shop today. to which i tore right into, knowing i was going to need to re-fresh this here 45 year old motor...

at the shop, finally a use for my new box!

and while at it, all the chrome is heading off to be etched, before being powder coated. by now as most might have noticed, i dont dig shiny. so chrome and polished bits will all be matte or flat. i suppose i will leave the details at that, and let the rest come out as it moves along..

and one of the two new toys the boss picked up. so yea, now i HAVE to get mine done hahah..

"outside of the comfort zone"

every once in awhile, even i get burnt out on cars all the time. winter sets in, and usually i get to a point where the last thing i want to do is touch my car. so when the chance to do something a little different pops up, i have trouble saying no. so when Dawn asked me if i would be interested in helping paint her seven year old sons bedroom, i was all over it. he wanted flames, guitars, and his name on the wall. so after some back and forth, we came up with this.

and you thought adults were hard to keep happy. but he loves it, and now his little brother wants his room done :)

first appointment, roud 3- the "O" face

i got a kick out of these. just a little proof that, yes, it does hurt! haha, some of these are pretty funny, trying to act like it doesnt hurt haha..

the first appointment, round 2

the goal= get the entire outline done in one shot, so we wouldnt have to worry about doing the stencil more than once. had been some time since i have had something of this scale done, so i was a little wary on my ability to sit through it.

started on it around 5pm, and finished up around 9:30. 2 of which, i had both of them working away on me. was entertaining to hear the back and forth, "whoa, i can feel that from here through his rib cage, how about you?"- think of that in the theme of "dude, wheres my car?" and you you can imagine how hard it is to sit still laughing.

and yes, sitting, driving, and just about doing anything is a major pain in the ass (literally)

the first appointment, the outline, part 1

so finally had the intila appointment. i was so anxious, that i was a tad worried i would pass out from excitement. but, even when Thad tried (to the surprise of Damian, who responded with a timely "man, your a dick!". it was rather hilarious, as it always is. my friend Dawn came along, and brought her "fancy" camera. so she is the one to thank for the cool pics.

a nice shot of the "double penetration" haha. had to go there..

the man, the myth, the bearded master, Dan Dittmer doing his thing..

and flip! there was a whole lot of moving back and forth so that they could both get to their ares while working at the same time.

dont mind the ass shot..

to be continued. more pics a coming...
